Ihsaan Association, Nizwa Hospital pact to help elderly

16 Nov 2020 By MOHAMMED TAHA

As part of its efforts to support the elderly and provide them with care, Ihsaan Association has launched an initiative and signed an agreement with Nizwa Hospital. The initiative is called ‘Barakat Musin 2020-2022′.

Speaking to Muscat Daily, Jokha Mohammed Khamis al Farsi, head and founder of Ihsaan Association, said the initiative aims to provide the elderly in the Dakhliyah governorate with health, psychological and social care, in order to ensure them a better life for them.

In addition to providing ambulance services, the initiative will also provide prosthetic limbs to individuals with limited income.

Jokha said Ihsaan Association is launching the services of its third ambulance on Tuesday under the patronage H E Sheikh Rashid bin Ahmed al Shamsi, Undersecretary in the Ministry of Social Development, at the headquarters of the association in South Ma’abela.

“We received more than 700 families during the month of October at our headquarters to acquaint them with the services of the association. We raised awareness on respecting and valuing our elderly,” Jokha said.

“We provide ambulance services to help the elderly and the disabled reach hospitals for routine check-ups and other healthcare needs. We provided 62 elderly persons access to hospitals in Muscat in October alone.”

All safety measures, like sterilising the ambulances daily, are undertaken to avoid the spread of the coronavirus, she said.

“We provide medical aid for the elderly at low cost.

“We will continue our awareness campaigns in other wilayats as well. We hope to get financial support from private companies for our efforts.”
