Oman Woman of the Year 2020
Ana Tudor, a young karate coach, who regularly delivers training to young students in Oman, has been constantly on the path of self improvement and believes only in striving for excellence.
A dedicated athlete who herself trains twice a day, before and after school hours, Ana also devotes long hours during school vacations training and attending training camps with coaches and players from all over the world. Currently, she competes under the Omani flag as well as the Romanian flag in regional and international karate meets.
In 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019, Ana attended several highly prestigious Youth League competitions under the Omani flag in countries such as Croatia, Italy and Bulgaria where hundreds of karate competitors came together representing different countries. In 2017, she represented Oman in the Champions League in London, UK, and won one gold medal and one bronze medal.
Last December, she also competed at the UAE Karate Cup and beat the UAE national champion in the finals to secure gold. Her most recent competition was in Hamburg, Germany, in February, where she won the first place after many tough rounds with excellent competitors. She currently has a very high worldwide ranking in karate and has also won around 20 medals in different competitions within Oman.
Ana says she wants to change the perception in Oman towards girls taking up karate as a competitive sport. She believes that every girl needs to know how to protect herself and feel comfortable, safe and secure in her own skin.
