Pact signed to provide 20 Japanese scholarships

The Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation has signed an agreement with the Mitsubishi Corporation from Japan.

According to the agreement, Mitsubishi Corporation will finance 20 Japanese scholarships to Omani youth over a period of five years (2021-25), with four scholarships each year, intended for postgraduate students.

The Mitsubishi Corporation programme, which began more than ten years ago, has provided  opportunities to 31 students from the sultanate to complete their studies from several prestigious Japanese universities.

The programme was launched as part of company’s social responsibility towards the people of the sultanate as well as to introduce Omani youth the to the Japanese community, understand Japanese culture and gain knowledge by obtaining master’s and doctoral degrees from Japanese universities

The ministry also announced that there are a number of scholarships offered by the Malaysian government for Omani students at APU and Swinburne Universities.
