The Oman Women of the Year Awards recently recognised the great achievements of 30 women who excelled in their respective line of work and felicitated them for their contributions in the Sultanate of Oman.
As a partner for the Oman Women of the Year Awards for the second year in a row, Mazda endeavours to identify with the spirit of excellence found in Oman’s people, who in their reflective, celebratory and confident selves set themselves apart in their distinctiveness, the same way Mazda’s vehicles do so in theirs. Mazda’s ‘You have the drive’ campaign focuses on this spirit of achievement and inspires them to reach for the sky, to achieve greatness in whatever they put their hands to, and in the process, continue to set benchmarks in excellence.
The Oman Women of the Year Awards recognises the extraordinary contributions and achievements of women who are shaping Oman’s social-cultural and economic scenario across 30 different sectors of industry. In line with the awards, Mazda, through their ‘You have the drive’ campaign, have taken the opportunity to recognise the pioneering spirit of Oman’s women as well, and encourages them in their respective pursuits by highlighting their achievements and spurring them on to reach their full potential.
Mrs. Widad Sultan who works in the Marketing Department at Towell Auto Centre (TAC) added, “In celebration of Mazda’s 100th year and the Oman Woman of the Year Awards, Mazda, has not only developed vehicles that match the ambitions and aspirations of its drivers, but has also endeavoured to relate to the women that ‘have the drive’ by embodying and encouraging their spirit of excellence. I have been working with TAC for over 9 years and I always look forward to Mazda’s global practices, learning and growth opportunities and new challenges to further enhance my career. I play an important role in working as a bridge between existing customer experience and communicating their unique experiences with potential new customers, among other things.”
With its unique design philosophy and constant quest for excellence, Mazda has moved its customers worldwide with the spirit of driving and the soul of motion. Woven into the fabric of Mazda’s DNA is the fighting spirit founded in Hiroshima. With over hundred years of excellence in innovation and the uniqueness of co-creating with others for which Mazda is so well known for, it is in the very nature of the Japanese automotive giant to identify, inspire and be inspired by the excellence found in individuals and society as a whole.
Be it finding commercial success with Rotary engines, winning World Design Awards multiple times based on the Kodo – Soul of Motion or for that matter ensuring incredible driving pleasure with its Jinba Ittai philosophy, Mazda has embodied the pioneering spirit of innovation consistently with each and every vehicle they design. Looking back at the milestones Mazda has achieved over the decades, it’s clear to see that the Japanese Automotive giant has continuously reinvented itself by adding to an already elegantly designed and technology driven range of vehicles. A series of significant launches like that of the Mazda 6 in 2002, the CX-5 in 2012 with the new KODO design and Mazda’s full suite of SKYACTIV technologies and more recently in 2019 with the all-new future ready 7th generation Mazda 3 that has ushered in Mazda’s premium status; Mazda’s journey to excellence continues with the dawn of a new decade.
Epitomising the philosophy of IKIGAI, which is to find one’s purpose in life, Mazda’s cars are designed for the journey within. Based on this purpose driven thought, Mazda has sought to associate with the entrepreneurial and pioneering spirit of Oman’s people to ensure that irrespective of what background they come from, their destiny is in their own hands and greatness is there for the taking. Mazda in this regard, has developed a range of exceptional vehicles that reflects this challenging spirit, and helps drivers to identify with and move on together to the next level of achievement. A partner that matches the driver’s ambitions with every mile, Mazda celebrates people who have achieved remarkable success and shown great strength of purpose in their chosen fields and is always ready to encourage and inspire others to live up to their potential as well.
Mazda as a brand has also looked at women as buyers and co-buyers in particular. This is reflected in the fact that the 2019 Mazda 3 model won the Women’s World Car of the Year award. Mazda’s KODO design which involves Takumi master craftsmanship of both men and women designers and engineers showcases their sharp minds and meticulous hands that shape the future of tomorrow’s Mazda vehicles. Mazda and TAC identify with Oman’s strong, smart and determined women who change the status quo on a day to day basis by achieving the impossible and breaking the norms persistently. With future ready vehicles, Mazda has ensured its place as the choice of champions. With campaigns like ‘You have the drive’, Mazda aims to establish a special bond with its customers by offering products, technologies and services that appeal to them and match their dreams and aspirations every step of the way.
Speaking about TAC’s women workforce, Mr. Riyadh Ali Sultan, General Manager, Towell Auto Centre, said, “More than 50% of our workforce across the company’s supporting functions comprises Omani women, with an average of over 6 years spent working with Towell Auto Centre.
