A husband may face jail if he fails to pay alimony to his wife, the Public Prosecution said, emphasising that alimony is a legitimate right of the wife.
In a statement, Public Prosecution said, ‘Alimony is a legitimate right of the wife and a husband refusing to pay it is a crime that can land him in jail.
‘Refusing to pay alimony, specified by a final court decision, on time is a crime punishable by imprisonment for one year,’ it added.
