The sultanate’s customs department has seized over 20,000 bottles of alcoholic beverages and 1.765kg of heroin in separate cases.

ROP’s Directorate General of Customs said its Department of Investigation and Risk Assessment raided a site for expatriate workers in North Batinah governorate and seized more than 20,000 bottles of alcoholic beverages.

‘The Directorate General of Customs also foiled an attempt to smuggle 1.765kg of heroin hidden inside a mail package containing vehicle spare parts,’ it said.
