Saif bin Salim al Amri from the wilayat of Saham has facilitated setting up a dialysis unit in Saham Hospital at a cost RO500,000. On completion, the unit will be able to perform the kidney procedure on 55 patients daily.
The Ministry of Health, represented by the Directorate General of Services in North Batinah Governorate, signed an agreement for the construction of the dialysis unit. The agreement was signed in the wali’s office in Saham in North Batinah.
Sultan al Saadi, director general of services in North Batinah, said, “This project will contribute in improving services for dialysis patients and ensure continuity of service delivery.”
He added that the unit in the hospital will be spread over 778sqm with 19 beds. The main dialysis unit will have 17 beds. It will have two isolation rooms with a bed each, and two waiting rooms for men and women. The unit will accommodate more than 55 patients in two shifts daily.
