Vale opens quarantine centre in North Batinah

6 Oct 2020

Vale in Oman inaugurated a COVID-19 quarantine centre in North Batinah. Built in collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MoH), the centre was opened by H E Sheikh Saif bin Hamiar al Shehi, Governor of North Batinah.

The centre is equipped with all medical facilities and basic amenities. The US$400,000 project was initiated in the wake of the latest available information on transmission and severity characteristics of COVID-19.

The centre also has all medical and preventive measures and includes 40 beds, clinics, laboratory, pharmacy, treatment rooms and a  meeting room. It will be operated by MoH.

This cooperation translates the company’s belief in the importance of supporting the health sector during the pandemic and is driven by its social responsibility to support local communities.

Since the inauguration of its operations in Oman in 2011, Vale has worked closely with all stakeholders to contribute to sustainable development and to boost the national economy, starting from the establishment of Jusoor Foundation, to the implementation of a series of sustainable social investments and volunteering programmes under Vale in Oman’s pillars of sustainability: environment, health and education, sports and culture, and entrepreneurship.
