A webinar addressing issues related to mental health and the importance of being kind and compassionate towards fellow human beings will be organised by Whispers of Serenity Clinic on October 10.
The webinar coincides with the celebration of World Mental Health Day.
Every year, Whispers of Serenity holds the popular ‘Not Alone’ campaign. However this year, the event will be held online. The webinar to be held via Zoom will be themed ‘Kindness’.
Whispers of Serenity is the first mental health and counselling clinic in Oman for the diagnosis and treatment of all minor and major mental health conditions. The ‘Not Alone’ campaign was founded in 2014 by
H H Sayyida Basma al Said and its main purpose is to inform people on the importance of mental health.
The webinar will consist of different breakout rooms having different workshops, talks from influencers and mental health organisations and various activities, Sayyida Basma said.
“It will be in both English and Arabic. We will have people from all around the world, including India, Kuwait, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, UK and US. We have invited some royal family members from the GCC, women influencers, and delegates from the field of mental health as well as various mental health awareness campaigns from Europe, America and the Middle East,” Sayyida Basma said.
She added that an online competition will start from October 1 in which every day Whispers of Serenity will provide a ‘Be Kind’ challenge and participants will have to provide a video or picture and post it on the clinic’s Instagram page and on the final day they will be awarded.
More details will be available on the @notalone Instagram page.
The webinar will be held free of cost for those from age 12 and older.
