Transfer of students of grades 2 to 12 from private schools to government schools or vice versa is possible till October 8, the Ministry of Education has announced.

In a statement, the ministry said, ‘Parents who wish to transfer their children from a government school to a private school or from a private school to a government school can do so during the period from September 28 to October 8.’

The ministry stated that parents can request for transfer through its educational portal and added it received 7,000 requests in seven hours.

In the 2018-19 academic year, 2,046 schools offered education to 843,598 students.
