MAFWR to reopen central fish market in Saham

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources (MAFWR) has announced it will reopen the Central Market for Fish at Port Saham, in North Batinah. 

A statement said, ‘The ministry is pleased to announce the opening based on the agreement arrived at a meeting held on September 21.’

The meeting was held in the presence of the governor of North Batinah, a number of State Council and Shura Council members and officials from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources. 

The market will open for wholesale and retail sale on Thursday, September 24 from 6am to 10am.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources confirmed that all licence holders registered for the selling and cutting professions wishing to work in the central fish market or in the port can register their names at the office in the central market till Wednesday.
