CBO participates in Arab central banks meeting

The Central Bank of Oman (CBO) participated in the virtual meeting of the 44th regular session of the Council of Arab Central Banks and Monetary Authorities’ Governors. The meeting was organised by the Arab Monetary Fund (AMF).

The meeting was chaired from the sultanate’s side by H E Taher bin Salim al Amri, executive president of the CBO.

The Council discussed the economic, financial and monetary implications of COVID-19 pandemic, and options related to policies and tools for the post-crisis period. The Arab central bankers also discussed the applications of modern financial technologies and the future of banking services and products.

The Council also reviewed the development of the member states’ efforts in combating money laundering and terrorist financing, the importance of enhancing financial inclusion and the impact of climate change implications on the financial system and stability.
