12 Sep 2020

The Ministry of Education (MoE) confirmed that examinations for the academic year 2020/21 will take place from June 6, 2021, to June 17, 2021.

Dr Zuwaina al Maskari, director general of Educational Evaluation Centre in the Ministry of Education, said, “We have reduced curricula by 30 per cent. The academic calendar will serve the students. We have identified and reduced specific evaluation tools for everyone for the final evaluation. The exams will be at the end of the school year. We reduced the percentage weights of exam scores and increased the percentage of continuous evaluations, which include three standardised short tests for all groups.”

She informed that short tests will not be included in the final exam.

“Additionally, students with chronic diseases will be treated according to a special mechanism. As for the exams, we will focus on what takes place in the classroom.”
