Port of Duqm Company has signed two agreements with Oman Towers Company and Arjan Engineering Company.
Oman Towers Company and Port of Duqm Company have signed an exclusive agreement to rollout telecom tower infrastructure for mobile operators within the port concession land, Port of Duqm Company said in a statement on its website.
Oman Towers Company is an infrastructure solutions provider for greenfield towers, rooftops, in-building solutions and other innovative ideas for the 4th Industry Revolution. Moving ahead with the coming technologies like 5G, Internet-of-Things (IoT) and others, Oman Towers Company is working with suppliers of street furniture to accommodate future antennas.
‘The agreement will allow Oman Towers Company to accommodate all service operators with different technologies on its towers in an open access means, which will save capital expenditure investment, time and enhance the efficiency. This agreement is a boost to the infrastructure within the Duqm region and makes it a definite investment hub for investors in the Duqm region,’ Port of Duqm Company said.
Port of Duqm Company recently also signed an agreement with Arjan Engineering Company which will establish cold storage warehouses at the port area. The construction work on the project is expected to commence in October and it will take the total built-up area of the facility to 10,000sq m.
Ali al Amri, the owner of Arjan Engineering Company, pointed out that the expansion project would witness the establishment of cold storage warehouses, a first of its kind in Duqm free zone. This project will add to the ease and convenience of the companies seeking warehousing and storage facilities to handle the overflow of inventory while converting warehousing costs into variable costs. Amri added that their new project would take the total investment to above RO1mn.
