HSBC Bank Oman on Monday announced that its new chief executive officer Melika Betley will assume her role at the bank from September 1.
Melika was named as the new CEO of HSBC Bank Oman by the bank’s board of directors in May this year, replacing current chief executive officer Andrew Long. In light of the travel restrictions resulting from the coronavirus pandemic, the bank’s board in June had decided to extend Long’s tenure as CEO until
Melika is able to take charge as the new CEO of HSBC Bank Oman.
Melika joins HSBC Bank Oman from HSBC Bank Middle East Bahrain where she was the CEO and country manager of Bahrain. HSBC Bank Oman earlier had said that its board had received regulatory approvals for the appointment of Long as senior advisor to the board until December 31, 2020.
