Exciting and thrilling times are awaiting the talented students of the 21 Indian schools in Oman, as Indian School Salalah is organising the second edition of the mega inter-school quiz competition ISQUIZ under the aegis of the Board of Directors, Indian Schools Oman.

More than 5,000 students from the 21 Indian schools will vie for the top honours in this highly reputed quiz competition. This popular event, which is going to be conducted online, will definitely provide a platform to the quiz wizards of Indian schools in the days to come.  ISQUIZ 2020 consists of three categories: Senior (Classes IX to XII), Junior (Classes V to VIII) and Sub Junior (Classes I to IV). The four stages of the competition – two qualifying rounds followed by the mega prelim and then the grand finale – will be conducted online. Registration for the event began on Sunday (August 23) and will close on September 10. There is no entry fee for the participants.

The grand finale will be held on October 10 hosted by celebrity quiz master, Vinay Mudaliar of Mindcogs, a prominent quiz venture. The Mega Preliminary and the Grand Finale will be aired on Zoom and the live broadcast made available on YouTube.

“The world as we know it has changed dramatically over the past few months. But we Indian schools in Oman have shown our resilience by ensuring the continuation of uninterrupted learning. With ISQUIZ, we take this spirit further to continue to give extracurricular activities the focus they deserves in achieving holistic education for our children,” said Dr Baby Sam Saamuel, chairman, Board of Directors, Indian Schools in Oman.

The weekly quiz that will appear on the ISQUIZ 2020 space of Muscat Daily will fascinate the inquisitive minds. Attractive prizes await the lucky winners of each week and the prizes will be given away on the day of the grand finale. If there are more people with all the answers correct, the lucky one among them will be decided by drawing lots.

The weekly competition on Muscat Daily is open to all residents of Oman, students as well as adults, and it will run from the first week of September for five consecutive weeks. “Amidst the challenging situation of the prevailing pandemic, this online ISQUIZ 2020, different from the usual live quiz, will surely be an exciting and interesting battle of the brains. I extend my best wishes to all the young minds of Indian schools to put in their best to achieve the biggest glory of their student days,” said Deepak Patankar, principal of Indian School Salalah.

ISQUIZ has become an event to be reckoned with for its fame, grandeur, big turnout and popularity.
