Dhofar, Masirah lockdown extended, travel abroad allowed for Omanis

The Supreme Committee dealing with COVID-19 held a meeting on Tuesday headed by H E Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal al Busaidi, Minister of Interior, in which it was decided to extend the closure of Dhofar and Masirah. The request of Omanis wanting to travel abroad has also been agreed to.

The committee said that citizens’ requests to travel abroad through the airports has been agreed to, provided they comply with the precautionary measures and restrictions that will be issued by the competent authorities.

The committee reviewed the increase in the number of deaths as well as the increase in the number of positive cases, especially among Omani families.

It also expressed concern over the COVID-19 situation in Oman and called on citizens and residents to exercise utmost care and commit to precautionary measures to reduce the number of cases and related deaths.
