The Supreme Committee in charge of dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic held a meeting on Tuesday, headed by H E Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal al Busaidi, Minister of Interior.
The committee expressed its strong dissatisfaction at the lack of commitment to the precautionary measures and showed concern on the rising coronavirus cases and the spike in casualties across Oman.
The committee has decided to increase the penalties for violators and to publish their names and photos in the media as a deterrent.
The committee also approved a package for those companies who pay taxes in order to reduce the financial impact on them.
