The Hajar Mountain range and the neighbouring wilayats are expected to receive moderate to heavy rainfall in the evening today. There is also a chance of low pressure development in the Arabian Sea, the Directorate General of Meteorology stated on Monday.
The Met department cautioned about the formation of cumulative clouds on Monday evening with scattered rains expected on the Hajar Mountains and the neighboring wilayats. ‘This may be be accompanied by active downwinds and hail, while dust and haze may prevail over the desert areas.’
The department added that the specialists at the National Multi Hazard Early Warning Centre are following the developments in the Arabian Sea, where a region of low air pressure is likely to be formed along the northwestern coast of India.
