The Ministry of Manpower has issued a decision to Omanise 11 professions. 

The decision (No. 182/2020) issued by H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Abdullah al Bakri, Minister of Manpower, regulates the practice of certain professions, which are now reserved for Omanis. 

“The professions to be Omanised are hostel supervisor, sociology specialist, social service specialist, social welfare specialist, Social psychology specialist, general social worker, student activities specialist, social research technician, social service technician, assistant social service technician and social worker,” stated the decision. 

“Licences for the recruitment of non-Omani workforce, and work-permit licences issued for specified professions shall apply until the date of their expiry,” the decision added.
