The Minister of Manpower has issued decisions determining the proportion of the Omani workforce in private sector establishments operating in the fisheries and mining sectors for the year 2020 to 2024. 

According to the decision for the fisheries sector, 50 per cent Omanisation is targeted for lead positions in 2020, reaching 70 per cent by 2024, while for the whole sector 35 per cent Omanisation is targeted by 2024. 

Omanisation percentages in the mining sector in leadership positions would reach 52 per cent in 2020 and 60 per cent by the year 2024. 

The decision has also set the target of 35 per cent Omanisation for professional workers by 2024 and the proportion of the national workforce in the mining sector in general would rise from 25 per cent in 2020 to 35 per cent in 2024.
