There has been no indication that the opening of commercial activities caused the recent spurt in the number of COVID-19 cases in Oman.
Speaking at the press conference on Thursday, H E Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed al Sa’eedi, Minister of Health, said, “There is no indication that the opening of commercial activities has caused an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases.”
However, he called upon companies to take care of their employees and their clients. “Companies should take care of the safety of their employees first and then that of the client,” he said.
“Institutions should prevent any employee from coming to work if he or she suffers from any symptoms of the virus,” he added.
H E Dr Sa’eedi said some restrictions will be put in place to determine whether people with chronic diseases can go to work or not.
