More than 40 tonnes of apples, found to be unfit for consumption, were destroyed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries (MoAF). 

In a statement, the ministry said, ‘The agricultural quarantine team at the ministry in Buraimi noticed during examination that the cargo, whose quantity is estimated to be about 41 tonnes of apples, was unfit for consumption and so destroyed.” 

It added that the specialists at Al Buraimi Port Customs and be’ah, together with the ministry’s team, carried out the destruction operations according to the set regulations.
