RO40mn fishing port to come up in Dibba

The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries has signed an agreement to develop a fishing port in Dibba, Musandam Governorate, with Sarooj Construction Company at a total cost of around RO40mn. 

According to an MoAF stttement, the scope of work includes constructing two breakwaters at a length of 2,000m, a 10-metre deep dock and other facilities to serve the fisheries, tourism and commercial sectors as well as the Royal Oman Police. It will also have facilities for port visitors. 

‘The Dibba Port development project comes within the government’s plan to diversify the economy and work to develop fishing ports in the sultanate to be an attractive environment for investments,’ the statement added.
