All ferries plying on Shannah-Masirah route have been suspended from today (Saturday) until further notice.
The Ministry of Transport said it is halting all inbound and outbound passenger ferries operating toMasirah Island.
It said, ‘In line with the decisions of the Supreme Committee to deal with COVID-19 pandemic regarding the decision of Masirah lockdown, the ministry has decided to halt the operation of passenger trips on all national and local ferries going to Masirah.’
‘The exception will be for operations of goods transport in coordination with the concerned authorities while adhering to the preventive measures issued by the Ministry of Health. This decision will be effective starting from Saturday, June 13 until further notice,’ the statement added.
