With the decrease in the infection rate in Wilayat Muttrah, a decision has been taken to lift the lockdown in the area in next two days.
H E Dr Ahmed al Sa’eedi, Minister of Health, said that restrictions will be eased in more areas in Wilayat Muttrah. “We will be opening other areas of Muttrah but some areas will remain closed due to health concerns,” he said.
According to Dr Saif al Abri, director general of disease surveillance and control, MoH, there is a significant decrease of the spread of the virus in Wilayat Muttrah.
Dr Abri said that the area around Muttrah Souk will be opened on Sunday as well as opening of commercial activities such as wholesale activites. However, Muttrah souq will remain closed.
“The isolation of part of Hamriyah and the closure of Wadi Kabir industrial will also remain in place,” he said.
“The epidemiological situation has been reviewed and the rate of infection has decreased by 30 per cent.”
