Support your colleagues on the frontline: Health Minister

9 Jun 2020

H E Dr Ahmed al Sa’eedi, Minister of Health, has said that with the increasing incidence of COVID-19 infections, the demand for critical care services is increasing, too. And to meet this rising demand, the critical care units have been training more staff and arranging the essential requirements.

“Furthermore, some of you might be called to join and support your colleagues in the frontline teams,” he said seeking more cooperation from all healthcare workers as the sultanate moves to reopen fully.

In his address to the healthcare workers, H E Dr Sa’eedi said, “We are currently planning the feasibility of resuming our services whilst taking precautions to ensure the safety of the healthcare workers, patients, and the community, at large. I urge each one of you to contribute to this planning effort.”

“Since my last message, we have seen His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik preside over the Supreme Committee meeting for COVID-19. His Majesty the Sultan praised all your efforts and acknowledged your sacrifices and dedication,” he added.

He said that the incidence of COVID-19 infections are mounting worldwide. “It is apparent to all of us that we need to learn how to live with and manage COVID-19 and its impact on our societies,” he said.
