As many as 1,552 people are still in 40 institutional quarantine centres until June 4, according to the relief and shelter sector.
The number of people getting discharged from institutional quarantine is increasing by the day with many completing their isolation, Hamoud bin Mohammed al Mundhiri, official spokesman for the relief and shelter sector, told Muscat Daily.
He said, “We had registered about 7,000 people in institutional quarantine centres across different governorates till June 4.”
He added, “1,552 people are still in 40 institutional quarantine centres. This figure includes 673 cases infected with the coronavirus, 696 suspected of it and 183 non-infected individuals. The numbers are subject to vary in coming days.”
Mundhiri said that institutional quarantine centres are expected to witness a decrease with the number of isolated persons decreasing by the end of the stipulated isolation period of 14 days. People can contact Control Centre in Muscat at 24994267.
