Discussions are on to open a few more commercial activities, a decision on which will be announced next week.  

H E Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed al Sa’eedi, Minister of Health, said, “We assure everyone that the Supreme Committee is fully aware of the effects this pandemic has had on the social, economic and health sectors. In this regard, the committee will meet and decide on reopening of some other business activities,” H E Dr Saeedi said. 

“The committee seeks balance in taking its decisions, with the participation of all representatives sectors involved,” he added 

He said that with longer period of closure, unfortunately the losses have increased. “But if the restrictions are relaxed before things settle down, the consequences will be severe.” 

“It is imperative to focus on precautionary measures that would reduce number of cases when opening activities,” he said.
