The second repatriation flight from Oman to India left for Chennai, with 183 passengers, on Tuesday evening.
The Air India Express flight had arrived from Chennai and left at 4.15pm from Muscat International Airport.
According to the Indian Embassy in Muscat, the second repatriation flight from Oman (under the Vande Bharat Mission) to Chennai on May 12 had 183 passengers, including 180 adults and three infants.
The embassy said in a statement that passengers for repatriation flights are selected from those who have registered with the Embassy. ‘Priority is being given to persons requiring to travel for urgent compelling reasons.’
The embassy added that it has been receiving a large number of queries regarding repatriation schedules.
‘In Phase I, two flights from Muscat have been scheduled to Kochi and Chennai. More flights will be operated in subsequent phases covering multiple destinations. We urge everyone to be patient and wait for further announcements,’ the statement said.
Those who have already registered are not required to re-register. Embassy officials will contact the short-listed travelers.
