Muscat Municipality (MM) is carrying out extensive inspection campaign on eateries and bakeries across the Wilayat of Muttrah to ensure the safety and quality of products and services as well as safeguard public health.
The Municipality, as a result, issued a fine against one activity and closed a bakery and a restaurant for failing to adhere to health requirements.
According to the municipality, adherence to guidelines and requirements for both, service providers and clients alike, have been enforced. Some of the requirements include, disinfecting all surfaces frequently, ensuring proper ventilation within the activity, encouraging and practising social distancing (minimum 2m) and providing appropriate personal protective equipment to each worker/employee.
MM has stated that it will take necessary legal action against violators in accordance with the laws, decisions or recommendations of the Supreme Committee dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. ‘It also hopes for full cooperation in the maintenance of public health and invites everyone to call the toll free number 1111 for any observations or queries.’
