Muscat Municipality has announced that commercial enterprises that have been allowed to re-open but do not follow the necessary health requirements outlined by the Supreme Committee for dealing with COVID-19 will be fined and face closure.
In a statement, Muscat Municipality said businesses in violation of the requirements will face RO500 fine and the closure of their operations for a three-day period. ‘A fine of RO500 and a three-day shut down for the commercial activities that do not abide by health specifications,’ it said.
The statement added that for those businesses found to repeat violations, will face a heftier fine of RO2,000 and closure of their operations for ten days.
