Oman has conducted more than 50,000 tests for new coronavirus, which resulted in 2,958 positive cases.
During a press conference on Thursday, H E Dr Ahmed al Sa’eedi, Minister of Health, said that the number of tests carried out in the Sultanate was more than 50,000. “Out of the 50,000, sultanate recorded 2,958 cases, giving us a rate of less than 20 tests per confirmed case. In comparison in the United Kingdom, it takes around five tests or fewer for every confirmed case.”

H E Dr Sa’eedi said, “The recent increase in the cases is due to the active epidemiological investigation carried out by the ministry.”
