British nationals in Oman have been asked to register for a one-way flight to Heathrow on May 18 from Muscat.
The British Embassy in Oman stated that the Foreign and Commonwealth Office Travel Advice has been updated with information about a possible flight to London on May 18. ‘If you are a British nationals who wishes to take advantage of this flight, take action by May 13,’ it stated.
In the travel advice, the embassy said that there are currently no commercial options available to return to the UK from Oman. Oman suspended all international flights on Sunday 29 March and land borders have been closed.
“However, we have been informed that (subject to sufficient tickets being sold) Oman Air will fly to London Heathrow on May 18, departing Muscat at 01:50. This will be a one-way flight.”
The cut-off date to register interest with Oman Air is May 13. If there is not sufficient interest, Oman Air will not operate the flight.
