COVID-19: 98 new cases, 42 recoveries

The Ministry of Health (MoH) announced the registration of 98 new confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) on Tuesday. Of the new cases, 42 are Omani nationals and 56 non-Omanis.  

This takes the total number of COVID-19 cases registered in the sultanate to 2735, including 12 deaths.  

The the number of recoveries on Tuesday jumped from 816 to 858, MoH said in a statement. 
Muscat Governorate continues to be the major contributor to daily cases, with 73 registered on Tuesday. Within the Muscat city, wilayat of Muttrah again had maximum 31 cases, while Bowsher jumped with 28 cases from 136 to 164.  

MoH advises all citizens and residents to keep on washing hands with water and soap, avoiding touching the face, nose, mouth, and eyes and following the healthy habits when coughing and sneezing. 

MoH also calls upon all to adhere to the isolation procedures by staying in an isolated room with an attached toilet and serving the isolated person from outside the room as instructed. It said that social distancing also helps curb the spread of the virus.
