Ministry of Transport launches Oman Logistics Platform

The Ministry of Transport has launched Oman Logistics Platform as part of efforts exerted by Oman Logistics Centre to digitalize the logistics sector and enhance its operations with modern technologies.

H E Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed al Futaisi, Minister of Transport, Board Chairman of Asyad, revealed in a tweet that this launch is a gesture to keep abreast of digital transformation and to promote ambitious programmes of Oman National Logistics Strategy 2040.

H E Futaisi pointed out that these technical developments reflect the significance of revolutionising the whole sector.

The minister said that the platform offers all types of information and data related to the logistics sector. This includes the latest statistics that show the rate of competitiveness, performance indicators and its contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

Dr. Ali bin Amer al Shidani, acting head of Technology Support Unit at Asyad, said that the Logistics Platform comprises a website and a smart phone app for all information, including questionnaires and public opinion (polls) on the services of the logistics sector in the Sultanate.

Shidhani added that the platform offers a list of services to the logistics community, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and students, in addition to a glossary of documents pertaining to the sector, like annual reports, laws and technical consultancy kept at hand by experts for individuals, nascent projects, SMEs and companies.
