65 COVID-19 patients in hospital, 17 in intensive care: MoH

Oman has so far conducted 40,400 tests for COVID-19, the Ministry of Health revealed on Thursday. 

‘The number of inpatient cases (in hospital) is 65, 17 of whom are in the intensive care,” said Dr Ahmed Bin Mohammed al Saidi, Minister of Health during a press conference.  

He added that the death rate from the infected cases in the Sultanate is 0.5 per cent so far. “We have conducted more than 40,400 medical tests in the Sultanate until now.”  

The Minister said what has been achieved till date is thanks to the cooperation of citizens and residents and their commitment to following instructions. “We will be able to conduct medical tests in Dhofar Governorate starting from today as the laboratory has been expanded.”
