29 Apr 2020

The sultanate’s Ministry of Housing announced that all the transactions related to property sales, inheritance, donation, mortgages, exchange and change in ownership can be conducted now by booking appointments through its website.

In a tweet posted on its official twitter handle, the Ministry of Housing said, ‘We resume work for real estate transactions in various governorates.’

As per the statement issued by the ministry, any person who wishes to complete a transaction related to property sales, inheritance, donation, mortgage, exchange, and change in ownership can book an appointment using the ministry’s website. After that the person would be informed through an SMS about the timing and confirmation of the appointment. After confirming the appointment both parties could reach the office on the pre-booked timing to complete the transaction.

The Ministry of Housing also clarified that the sale of property in Muscat governorate will be conducted via real estate brokerage offices.

The ministry said an advertisement in this regard was also published to create awareness about their initiative. The initiative taken by the Ministry of Housing makes it the first resumption of activities since the imposition of strict measures suggested by the Supreme Committee to prevent the spread of COVID-19 pandemic in Oman.
