The Ministry of Health (MoH) announced the registration of 82 new confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) on Tuesday. Of the new cases, 40 are Omani nationals and 42 non-Omanis.
With Tuesday’s new cases, the total number of COVID-19 cases registered in the sultanate so far has reached 2,131, including ten deaths.
‘The ministry would like to affirm that the number of COVID-19 recoveries rose to 364,’ MoH stated.
The number of recoveries on Tuesday remained same as of Monday, while 31 had recovered on Sunday.
25 institutional isolation centres
The Government Communication Center (GC), said that 25 institutional isolation centres have 721 people in various governorates of the sultanate and are being supervised by the relief and shelter sector. ‘There are eight centres having 336 uninfected people, eight centres having 59 which are allocated for persons suspected to have COVID-19 and nine centres having 326 infected people inside them.’
SAF continue support
The Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) are continuing to support national efforts and measures to reduce the effects of the pandemic. They are providing support in various areas to combat the pandemic and limit its spread alongside all other institutions and sectors in the country.
In this context, the engineering services at the Ministry of Defence carried out disinfection in the building of Oman Charitable Organization, its offices and stores. A specialised team has been constituted which is carrying out disinfection of buildings and installations.
