Oman will not reach zero in COVID-19 infections: MoH

23 Apr 2020 By SHADDAD AL MUSALMY

As there is still lack of immunity of COVID-19 among the communities, Oman will not reach zero cases of COVID-19 any time soon.

Dr Saif al Abri, Director General of Disease Surveillance and Control at the Ministry of Health (MoH) stressed that Oman will not reach zero cases as currently there is no immunity among the population.

“There is no clue if Oman will reach zero case. The virus is still new and we cant predict,” he said,
Dr Abri added that there is expectation that the virus may fade away slowly, like an influenza. “Currently, health officials cannot assume a date or time when Oman will reach that stage,” he said.
