Dr Mohammed al Hosni, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Health Affairs, said some trade activities have to open. “Soon, there would be announcement on the activities that may be open. We just call upon people to be patient.”
He said that there cannot be closure of trade for long time. “In one way or another, some activities have to open. However, social distancing of at least two metres would need to be put in place,” he said.
In regards to Muttrah, the Undersecretary said, “There are steps that will be taken to allow movement in Muttrah and open commercial activity.”
Dr Shawqi bin Abdul Rahman Al Zadjali, Assistant General Director of Health Affairs, Muscat Municipality, said there are ongoing meetings and discussions on the possibility of resuming some activities. “The team is in discussions to open some trade activities in Muscat,” he said.
