The Ministry of Health (MoH) is stepping up efforts for testing suspected cases of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). Till Monday, MoH had analysed 25,000 samples since the outbreak of COVID-19 in the country.

The ministry said that many volunteers and retired health workers have joined the testing campaigns in Muscat and other cities. ‘The Central Public Health Laboratory staff took throat and nasal swabs from thousands of people. The result of the examination in most cases took only a few hours and no more than 24 hours.’

Meanwhile, the Directorate General of Health Services in Muscat governorate continues to operate special health facilities from tents for testing of COVID-19.

People with flu symptoms should visit the nearest tent in Muttrah, Wadi Kabir industrial area (Senaiya), and Hamriya which are functional till this Thursday only.
