The Ministry of Health (MoH) announced the registration of 144 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) on Monday morning, taking the total to 1410 in Oman. This is the biggest single-day jump in new cases.
Earlier, 128 was highest single-day figure which was recorded on April 13.
Of the 144 new cases, 58 were Omani citizens and 86 non-Omanis. The total number of deaths till date have been seven.
Recoveries continue at good pace, going up by five from Sunday, taking the total to 238.
MoH calls upon all to adhere to the isolation procedures by staying in an isolated room with an attached toilet and serving the isolated person from outside the room as instructed.
The ministry also advises all citizens and residents to keep on washing hands with water and soap, avoiding touching the face, nose, mouth, and eyes and following the healthy habits when coughing and sneezing.
The ministry urges everyone to adhere strictly to social and physical distancing instructions issued by the Supreme Committee and the MoH, as well as staying at home and not going out unless necessary.
