The number of people getting discharged from institutional quarantine is increasing by the day with 2,750 people completing their isolation, according to Hamoud bin Mohammed al Mundhiri, official spokesman for the relief and shelter sector.
Speaking to Muscat Daily, Mundhiri, said, “We had registered about 3,500 people in institutional quarantine centres in various shelters across different governorates. Around 2,750 have been discharged so far. This figure does not include cases infected with the corona virus or suspected of it.”
He added “About 750 people are still in institutional quarantine centres. The numbers are subject to vary in coming days.”
Mundhiri said that institutional quarantine centres are expected to witness a decrease with the number of isolated persons decreasing by the end of the stipulated isolation period of 14 days.
“The sector has also activated hotline numbers to receive any inquiries on the operating room number of the main control centre in Muscat, which is 24994267,” said Mundhiri.
