The Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources (MRMWR) has registered 158 violations of the decisions of the Supreme Committee dealing with COVID-19 in a two-week period from April 1 to 15 in various governorates of the sultanate.
South Batinah governorate registered the highest number of violations with 44, followed by 42 violations in North Batinah, 26 in Dakhliyah, 14 in Buraimi, 11 in Dhahirah, 12 in South Sharqiyah, eight in North Sharqiyah and one in Dhofar.
MRMWR shut down 19 restaurants and cafés in the wilayat of Barka in South Batinah. The ministry also closed four commercial establishments: a blacksmith’s workshop, auto parts store, and two women’s tailoring shops in Buraimi.
The inspection team also closed five restaurants and a café for violation of the decisions of the Supreme Committee in South Batinah.
