Storage period for goods at Muscat airport extended

The Ministry of Transport has extended the free storage period of goods in Transom Sats Cargo in Muscat International Airport to reduce the spread of the coronavirus. 

The ministry said, ‘Transom Sats Cargo in Muscat International Airport announced an extension to the free storage period of goods for all local and global shipping agents to facilitate air cargo and to reduce the spread of the coronavirus.’ 

Transom Sats Cargo said that the grace period for storing public shipments will be extended from 48 hours to 96 hours. It also confirmed that the grace period for storing perishable shipments will be extended from 24 hours to 72 hours. It stressed that the aim of the extension is to facilitate air cargo and reduce the spread of the coronavirus.  

The cargo company said the extension period will continue till May 15. Transom Sats is the premier cargo operations handler in Muscat airport, providing services to 30 leading airlines including Oman Air, Swiss, British Airways, KLM, Emirates, Etihad and Qatar Airways.
