MoAF spraying pesticides to tackle Dubas bug

The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries (MoAF) has started a pesticides spraying campaign to combat the spread of Dubas bug in the wilayat of Jalaan Bani Bu Hassan in South Sharqiyah. 

An official at the ministry, said, “A team of specialists recently began a campaign against Dubas bug in the villages of the wilayat of Jalaan Bani Bu Ali. The team sprayed in 80 per cent of the targeted area. The ministry is targeting 300 acres.” 

The ministry deploys helicopters for aerial spraying of pesticides to combat the spread of the bug in addition to ground spraying.  The ministry recently set up a camp to combat the red palm weevil in some villages of the wilayat of Ibri.
