MoAF bans several veterinary drugs

The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries (MoAF) has banned the import and use of several types of veterinary drugs. H E Dr Hamad bin Said al Oufi, Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, issued a Ministerial Decision banning the import and use of several American drugs which include Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) schedule drugs as per the guidelines of FDA (US Food and Drug Administration). 

The banned drugs are: Anabolic steroids – Boldenone  undecylenate, Nandrolone decanoate, Nandrolone phenylpropionate, Ethylestrenol, Methandriol dipropionate, Stanozolol, Testosterone, Trenbolone acetate, Clenbuterol hydrochloride, Dilateerol, Ventipulmin, Venti Plus, Spiropent, Equi Plus, EquiPulmin, Broncopulmin, Nitrofurans, Chloramphenicol, Colistin, Diclofenac, Diethanolamine. The decision also banned anti-infectious agents/ antibiotics growth promoters,  Bacitracin, Carboodox, Olaquindox, Tylosin, Virginiamycin, Avilamycin, Flavophospholipol. 

The Ministerial Decision issued on April 9 will come into effect from the date of its publication in the official gazette.
