Salalah Medical Supplies Manufacturing Company has increased the production of necessary medical supplies such as face masks and medical gloves to meet the current local market needs.
Following the outbreak of COVID-19 globally, the demand for face masks and medical hand gloves have increased sharply in the sultanate.
In a tweet posted on its official twitter handle, Madayn (Public Establishment for Industrial Estates) said that the Raysut-based company has confirmed that it has boosted the production since the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Madayn, in the month of March, Salalah Medical Supplies Manufacturing Co has produced around 40mn medical gloves with approved medical specifications and has also supplied 2mn such gloves to the government and private health institutes.
Established in 1997 with 100 per cent Omani capital, Salalah Medical Supplies Manufacturing Co has a state-of-the-art manufacturing unit in Raysut Industrial Estate, which is spread over an area of 18,000 sq m and is engaged in the production of a range of medical equipment.
In another tweet, Madayn also urged all investors, business owners and industrialists to step up their efforts to limit the spread of COVID-19 in the sultanate by implementing the precautionary measures. It has also started inspecting various industrial establishments to ensure the strict compliance of precautions suggested by the government agencies.
‘The specialised teams in the industrial cities continue to control the industrial establishments, in order to ensure their commitment to the application of health controls, and to activate the precautionary measures that Madayngeneralises to prevent the risk of the virus,’ said Madayn in a tweet.
