‘All necessary movement to continue under lockdown’

9 Apr 2020

The ministry affirmed that enough food supplies and medicine are available covering the market’s need for a long-term period.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Oman has reached out to all diplomatic missions in Oman informing them of the closure of Muscat Governorate from Friday April 10 until Wednesday, April 22, 2020.

The ministry informed that all necessary movements, such as visiting hospitals, purchasing the necessary supplies, especially food supplies and buying medicines from pharmacies, will remain open.

The ministry called on embassies that have large communities in the sultanate to alert their communities not to overcrowd in the foodstuff shops because of the high risk of spreading the virus.

The ministry affirmed that enough food supplies and medicine are available covering the market’s need for a long-term period. The supplies are re-stocked by continuous air transport by Oman Air and maritime transport, as well through land transport to all the governorates.
